Rachel Niemann Exercise Physiologist
Gird your loins, ladies
I’m a women’s health pro and I’m making a stand.
Pelvic floor function should not be a taboo topic. Or something you adjust your life to.
Blushingly discussed at Dr’s appointments, quietly explained in a treatment room whose walls are thin, or nervously confessed over a glass of wine with a friend.
Or even, not mentioned to anyone at all.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone
A recent (UK) survey of 2000 women, found over 60% of women experience pelvic floor dysfunction.
And 53% of these women who had experienced symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction had not sought from a healthcare professional.
Of these, 39% thought their symptoms were normal and 21% were too embarrassed.
This is the reason I provide women’s pelvic floor exercise therapy.
So women no longer have to wear dark pants in case they leak, rely on pads ‘just in case’, or adjust their exercise goals and passions around pelvic floor limitations.
Hey I’m Rachel, clinical exercise physiologist and pelvic floor obsessed.
But I don’t stop there.
Your pelvic floor is part of a dynamic system, from your jaw to your feet. It needs to be supported, challenged and progressed like any muscle or body part.
Not just by doing Kegels at the traffic lights.
I’m on a mission.
To help women build resilient pelvic floors, using assessments that get to the bottom of the issue, strategies to support your pelvic floor from day one and exercise therapy to build your system to the level you require.
So next time you do a quick pee before your gym session, or slip a pad in before a walk or run, or worry that a lift just made your prolapse worse, stop and think.
Do you really need to ‘put up with this’?Over to you,
the floor is yours!
