Hypermobility Exercise Physiology Toowoomba
For the Zebra’s among us
You’ve earned your stripes the hard way.
Through pain, injury, fatigue and misunderstanding.
Or maybe, you’ve seen a reel on TikTok or Insta and you’re wondering if this could be you?
With the right approach, movement and exercise can be very beneficial for hypermobile bodies.
Without ‘paying’ for it after.
You are not alone:
Hypermobility is not uncommon.
1 in 10 people have joint hypermobility with a 3 times higher prevalence in women
Many women don’t even know they have it, or how it affects them.
A bit about me
Hey, I’m Rachel
I’m a clinical exercise physiologist with a special interest in musculoskeletal concerns in women.
I look at hypermobility from both a biomechanical and a whole person lens.
From your health history, to your circumstances, to which joints are compensating and why, because the body is not just the sum of its parts. It’s all connected (even if those connections are a bit loosey goosey- IFKYK).
When I’m not working in my lovely home clinic, you’ll find me on my mountain bike, on the couch reading with my sausage dogs Max & Hugo, or learning about essential oils- my new hobby.
RachelI’m on a mission.
To help women build resilient bodies, using:
assessments to get to the bottom of the issue
strategies to support your body from day one
and exercise therapy to build your system to the level you require.
Who it’s for
For women:
Who end up in pain after every exercise class no matter how ‘gentle’ it is
Who constantly want to stretch to resolve pain or tightness
Who are frequently rolling ankles, or injuring themselves
Who feel fatigued with day to day life
Who have persistent pain and niggles in muscles and joints
Who have pelvic floor concerns
Who have hernias, or unresolved DRAM (ab separation)
Who always feel stiff no matter how much stretching or yoga they do
Who feel unstable in their joints
Who are super flexible— or used to be.
Who want to improving their posture and joint alignment
Who want to improve their body awareness during exercise
Who have co-existing conditions such as fibromyalgia, POTS, or ME/CFS
Who are neuro-spicy 🌶️
